I finally caved and bought these Blake dining chairs after watching a home decor influencer rave endlessly about how comfortable and high-end they were, and I regret it completely. For nearly $400 for a set of two, the quality is downright insulting—the seat cushion is rock-hard with almost zero give, and the walnut-stained legs creak and wobble unevenly no matter how much I tried tightening the bolts. On top of that, as a particularly annoying minor gripe, the cheap stick-on felt pads they provided slid right off the bottom of the wood feet before we even finished our first dinner. It is crazy how misleading social media lighting can be, because in real life these look and feel like stiff waiting-room furniture, and now I am stuck dealing with the massive hassle of repacking them to get my money back.

We needed proper dining furniture after getting married and moving into a bigger house, and these are comfortable and rock-solid.
